Laura Bohachyk is a teacher with the Edmonton Public School Board and past volunteer with Free Footie. Laura is passionate about providing incredible learning opportunities to all children and is the curriculum coordinator at her school, working to implement the “All in for Youth” program. Laura holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and a Master of Arts in Educational Studies from the University of British Columbia.

VACANCY, Video Content Creator – SCiP Internship
We are looking for an individual with experience creating both short and long form video content to help us capture all the antics over the spring and summer at Free Footie and Footie Camp. Free Footie is a non-profit organization providing absolutely free after-school soccer programming to nearly 2,000 of Edmonton’s young people on an annual basis. We work with elementary school children aged 8-12 in some of Edmonton’s most under-served areas.
This person will shoot, edit, and deliver video on a weekly basis.
This person will enjoy a generous dose of creative freedom to shoot content they want to shoot and create content they want to create, though there maybe occasional requests for specific shots or story lines.
This person will have a passion for story telling.
It’s a soccer organization, so it’d be great if you loved soccer!
The ideal candidate will have their own equipment and be attending a post-secondary institution in Alberta.

Free Footie is recruiting up-and-coming journalists, storytellers, content creators, and the like to help us gather and tell the stories of the people who help us make us who we are. Free Footie is a non-profit organization providing absolutely free after-school soccer programming to nearly 2,000 of Edmonton’s young people on an annual basis. We work with elementary school children aged 8-12 in some of Edmonton’s most underserved areas.
We will help you identify subjects and provide contacts where we can, but then we give you the freedom to pursue the story and tell it in a way that you find exciting and engaging.
The ideal candidate will possess a love for soccer, community, nonprofits, and Edmonton in general.
We are looking for written content that will be posted and shared via our blog and social media.
Please include something you’ve written that you love with your application.
There will be a combination of work in the field opportunities and work from home opportunities but you must be based in Edmonton. Additionally, you must be attending a post-secondary institution in Alberta.
